sorry, just to clarify, it is not an exact scale down of a raptor head, but in terms of linkages and the different parts and functions of the head, it is similar to the raptor.

Update : Wind resistance & Crash Cost

I have a great time last two days flying the Rave.

              Wind resistance:

Today was quite windly and hearing Johnny comments that it is really windy when he was flying his titan. Obviously his advice to me is be careful don;t fly that "450" Rave of mine.

The things is even in that wind, I flown the Rave just like any other day. It felt more like between mine Protos and RJX.

              Crash Cost:
Yes I did it again on my 7th flight of my Rave, crashed it. Was really comfortable with the heli and did a series of chest level flips and rolls in close distance (for my standard), did one too many roll and the blade hit the ground and rest is history.

Damage cost in US$ ( Torque tube survie )
              - Main shaft - normal U$2.70 ; harden U$3.70
              - flybar - U$3
              - Cross shaft (spindle) - U$3
              - Paddles - U$4 (optional as stock have two sets , different size )
              - Bevel gears (two front) - U$8 for two
              - Radix 350mm blades - U$50
Total Cost (without shipment cost) - U$68 or S$103

This is a real great little heli to fly.
The torque tube, tail design is making tail very very lock in.

                crash cost

Ops...forget to add the three cyclic servo gears as they all strip since they are plastic while I wait for the metal gear to arrive.

                3 * plastic gears = U$12

                New total : U$80 or S$122.

                    Great Video

If you need any good reason why you need a "450" size heli that fly great. Check out this video.

2009 is the year of "mini-strike" back
                    start with "450 strike back"
                    follow by Mini-FBL.....

I actually cannot remember how it goes down in the sense if it was inverted and the balde hit the ground ? As the canopy, frame, skid and very thing was like new, not a single scratch.

                      Did you see it ?

                        i saw it.

                        You rolled.

                        Side down, blade first.

I'll be blunt about the cause.

You need to be in more control when doing stationary rolls. You should not (cannot) flip the heli by giving the inputs blindly and hope that the "correct inputs" will bring the heli back up again. This works when it is high up where you have lots of room for mistakes and incorrect collective inputs. For this crash, you really did the roll very very low down...

Haha, but the rave does imbune you with lots of confidence, which is very good for trying out new things

Well Said, and that is the control that I am after.

                            then wait no longer!

Spend the next $500 bux on a simulator
Your next step should be a stable inverted hover. It took me a long time to bring the inverted hover near to the grass, but i'm taking my time

                            Its a life long hobby.

Actually I have been on my SIM...and I can hover on Phoenix SIM inverted low enough, just not guts to do it live yet. Also need to get use to one heli, and not keeping playing around. Hopefully can do it this time.
