I've been thinking about this over lunch.
I'm really a nutz if I were to dismantle my R50 for maintenance
It lead me to think about getting a new R50 Kit and build it up from scratch, just to familiaise myself with the parts esp the engine.
What you guys think?

Ok I admit, hands are kinda itchy. I actually love fixing up Heli.... BUT that aint the reason why I crash my Mini Titan.... Not to up my fixing up speed

Bun tear your heli apart, get ready some spray, rags and clean up. Put them back together, open a can of beer and enjoy the view

It will take you several hours. Maybe a few days if first time.

I plan to get the Raptor 50 , not for 3D , may be for scale ,
what should I buy .

eg.

1) Raptor 50 kit
2) Gyro - can use 401 ?
3) Servo - what model to use on tail servo , I
prefer Futaba or Hitec
4) Servo - what servo for Ali , Thro , pitch ??
5) Gov - can go without ?
6) RX - 7 Ch good enough
7) Engine - OS 50 SX Hyper - shld be good
8) Regulator - what is that for ?
9) Any others --- ??

I'm a beginner so my items should be good for you I guess.
* 401+9254 ( my feel is gyro must never save, tail is the last I would want to lose control )
* 4 x HP-DS20FMD (good enough for me to do stall turns and hard figure 8, but for collective I was thinking would be better to get a faster & stronger one? )
* Thunder Tiger PRO-50H (good enough for me, should be good enough for scale flying? )
* You can use 2S lipo and using a regulator, or use NiCd batteries. Am still using Alighn 2 in 1 Voltage Regulator ( heard many ppl complain about glitches, but I have been using this for 1 gallon so far and no glitch,just keep your wires tidy should be ok, dont bundle them too much... thats my feel )
* HDB's Used R50 Kit Got TTPro-50H also , so that I can buy a NIB kit and keep my hands busy. Its like knowing how to mend your holes in your underwear. If you can't mend it you'll be wearing one with more than 3 holes

Cracked servo tray!

This is the 2nd servo tray ive damanged, how often do you guys change (crack) it?

HDB: Mazon uses TT50 with no gov and does aerobatic, can ask him.

Tigthen too tight, then vibration cause it to crack??? U might wana consider using a washer to spread out the forces exerted by the bolt.
