Crashed!

Put on new blades (align 600A) a friend got for me from taiwan while on holiday
It wasnt on the bad batch list (during the initial recall period) ... and a minute after take off .. heli disintegrated in air!

last sat purely due to pilot error (brain froze) which is alrite (learnt my lesson)
This is first flight after fixing.. so i tho of trying the new blades

Yep.. violent vibration just on hovering, happened so quickly that the heli disintegrated b 4 i can set it to hold.. didnt noticed the lead weight flying out.. but crash analysis indicated that one blade is much lighter than another.. and there are lead weight ejected traces..

then you were really really lucky...coz getting hit by that lead weight is as good(bad) as getting shot by a bullet

If you cannot find stock for radix, try the funkey 610mm yellow stuff from rotor. Very very good compared to the GCT 620mm that I always complain about, its almost like flying another heli Cheaper than radix also, but its looks damn ugly and kiddy.

Funkey blades good? 600 & 620 much difference?

funkey got a few blades for 50 size. From 600mm to 615mm, no 620mm.

600mm silver fg blade $70+ , got 2 or 3 types of tips. Nowadays rotor like only stock the square one. Whats the difference? I honestly don't know.

600mm cf blade $115+/-, got 2 or 3 types of tips.

610mm yellow cf $120+

615mm cf $120+

610mm black cf and 610mm fg are semi-sym blades, I think more for hovering manuveurs and load carrying. Blades many many types, like car tires, got many diameter, width, grain pattern, etc, etc. A lot of time is personal preference.

If on budget, get the silver fg blades, crash liao not so painful. A bit less punch I feel. Cyclic quite good though.
If got dough get the yellow 610mm. I think 3dx got see people use. Its super duper good for the price. Its hard to bog this blade.

Fixed the heli .. went out for flight this afternoon but engine felt under powered on first flight .. couldnt start the engine after 1st flight anymore

This is the current status of my OS50 .. not sure what caused the damange .. previous 'explosion' from align blade maybe?

not sure what else is damaged too .. will be getting a new engine
Anyway this engine has served me well for almost a year

if the piston is in this condition, then the rest of the engine is probably in some kind of shit condition also. Might as well change the whole thing, but this time take good care of it.

I read from some place that even if you run lean once, the damage is already done. So... take care of it, if unsure, richen it.
