Flight with the temp wheels from William's AM Bubro wheels were amazing. The weight shed so significant my AM kept climbing even on cruising speed with lipo pushed right at front.

Upon checking, Alfian found out the problem, and gave me another dose of plucking . I DID NOT FOLLOW MANUAL AGAIN There were 4 screws to be used on the mount for tilting of the mount. My plane was defintely not having the recommended downward thrust, due to smartalex thinking and judgement....

Went home, and fixed up the mount. Today will maiden before lesson.

Really tempted to use those 1800mAh but think will try only after comfortable with 2150mAh....

    Stay tuned... to be continued

Bro its not maiden...its called test flight! You've done successful maiden liaoz!

Anyway why are you not able to fly with your 1800mah batt? Just cut short the timing? Or is there some other issues like weight/cg?

TOLD YOU TO GET 2170 liaoz!
Practice makes permanent. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Taking your time? HDB you progressing very fast leh. Not that long ago you were building and flying e starters, (I remember cos I took up hobby only recently) then formosas and now AM.

Thinking its a pity you dont work for Airbus or else the 380 would have come out long ago and the company will save billions hahah.

Bull, you can do the same Just keep an open mind, open ear and fly with us. HDB has been absorbing like a sponge kekeke, he catches on very quickly. Joe Augustine too, he is into Formosa in less than 2 months?
Stop looking for a gyro in my plane, they are all in the head.

Well yea thanks in advance for the sound advice. I will chill out more often at PFW henceforth to do my sponging bit like HDB...

Joe into Formosa? Tot I saw him flying a pink 4D plane also.

Dont be modest lah HDB, cannot handle the "how" surely also cannot handle the "what" nevermind the advancement...

But yes kudos to all trainers who are so willing to impart and share with the newbies.

Yoz Bull, I dont sponge, I get plucked
Knowing the plane's cause and effect is one thing, learning to fly is another big headache. Just trying my best to up my learning curve.
But compared to those lao jiao, we have a much more comfortable time.

At least Alfian dont use his knuckle and knock my head when I do something silly

Today is a fruitful day. I just found the most satisfying sensation today with a change of prop as encouraged by Edmond and also thank him for the on-scene lesson.
Changed to a 13x6.5 and my AM has a drastic increase in vertical climb. Still need to check out the amp draw tmr. On 12x6 my AXI2820/12 was drawing 32A at max trottle.

Also want to thank Proytne for buddying me today, and taught me those tricks. Without him, my learning curve would have stuck there!

And like what Ronnie mentioned and I fully concur, AM is THE PLANE FOR ME!!!

Can someone explain the difference for using a 12x6 and a 13x6.5 prop?

For me, I remembered the diff was the power. Smaller prop does not have that much 'thrust' I needed especially when I try to learn hovering.

No diff ah bro, just that the bigger one loads your powertrain more and give you more thrust at the cost of more amps.

Basically, you are trying to get to 1.5 power to weight ratio for 3D plane minimum and the 13 x 6.5 gets you closer to that ratio than the previous prop without needing to change anything else.

So am I correct to say I should go for lower Kv motor to use bigger props, to get that 'thrust' when I need them???

Sorry ah just trying to answer some questions some mate asking me. Need to verify. Not that I'm looking into getting an Acro again.... hmmmmmm

yes, in a very general sense, you need lower KV motor for bigger props. It depends on the application they want to do. If they are looking at 3D, big props are what they want to find as long as their plane can afford the height.

In your case, your powersystem can deliver more and you are shortchanged on a 12 x 6 prop, so switching it one size made a lot of difference getting to the optimal setup etc.
