    2Km Flight Test Next

I have just done 1.2km distance without a problem. I will push it to 2km this weekend. Wish me luck....

    Here is the 1.2km Flight
I hope to have a get together of FPV pilots as it's getting boring doing this alone...

Have you consider the radio transmitter range?

        Hi

I am impress with your video downlink quality. Very clear!

Here is link to one of my FPV flight.

I did tried to fly with the goggle last Sunday. However, the goggle is not bright enough and the image will turn dark when the plane is flying directly towards the morning Sun. Back to the drawing board Mayby I will view from the notebook instead of goggle.

I am using the Thomas Scherrer Long Range Tx. It has a range of around 5km. It has 3 modes Lo Mid and Hi power. .5w, 1w and 2w power.
The 1w and 2w power i use in case of emergency. So far .5w is more than enough. Others have tried with booster 7W I think the record is 15km... Not for me man... Thats too far to fly. 3km will be a good range.

                  Free Like a Bird!!!!

                  Bro,
Flying fron NoteBook is not the same. tried it and not totally immerse in the flight. Flying from goggle take you to the pilot view and you will be FREE like a bird... haha

                    Thanks for the info Ben.

I would like to purchase the LM 1.2GHz tx/rx + patch antenna with the rest of the equipment from nghobbies.com. Is yours the portable or the standard rx. Do you have any recommendation for the purchase of the a/m. Could you kindly provide me with more info about your FPV flight box, (e.g the power source the dvr, lcd connectors). as i would like to make one like yours. I'm kinda illiterate in this field. Thank you. I hope to join you in FPV real soon..

My Vrx is the standard one. the portable is actually the same with batteries provided. i have plenty of 3s around and dont wanna waste it.

                      My Flight box:
I added a 7"LCD screen so that I can set my OSD and the recorder before flight without looking into the goggle.

I have the V-mate by Sandisk as a recorder which I use most of the time. i also use the easyCAP. recording quality is good but needs a laptop which is a pain to carry especially there is already so many stuff to carry and connect.

                      My goggles are from FatShark.

the rest of the flight box are wires, connectors, batteries, cooling fan, remote control etc.

Hope this will help you get started.

                      Ben

Thanks Ben. So all the stuff in the box is powered by lipo?

                        Comment

Yes... all powered by 2800mah 3s liPo. I have a step down to 5v for the V-Mate thats about it. Keep it simple and it will be more reliable.

Yes Fatshark is recommended. It comes with built in 2.4 Ghz video RX, you can use your own RX also.

                                Bro,

I cut my foam inserts for the ground station suitcase, easily damaged, not good. What do you use to cover the foam inserts, cardboard, coroplast?
