Where did you host the photos? Yes, safest way is to host in own location.

I've got the 1/16 Bruder Merc Actos, and it looks and feel more "plastic" and "toy-ish". How's your conversion project? Would like to convert my Bruder one day, if it is worthwhile.

I have come to this thread after some of the recent happening stuff in **Tech.

A bit wasted as I spent time putting photos up of my 'works in progress' - Aeromax.

Tamiya kits for all it's short comings, which is quite minimal, is still quite ex.

On the other hand, I am thinking a sizable fleet made up of RC converted Bruder trucks can be had for just a full opt Tamiya, say SGD 900.

a 200 dollar Bruder truck + 200 dollar china made SLU = 2 full opt bruder trucks for the price of 1 tamiya. $100 for the paintjob and odds&ends.

what do you guys think? Pros & Cons?

Jack uses the SLU (version 1), and I had the SLU2. The operation is more hassle-free compared to the MFU, as it doesn't require trims, DR, or such to work. On a mode 1 tx, the throttle stick can work in 5 different positions for a variety of special functions. Best of all, there is even a police siren sound. Blasted it during the roadshow at Skype park.

You can watch a demo on the SLU2 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fwBDLmZ8eI

the photos were actually from my picasa albums and Picasa quite nicely have an option to just link to the photo rather than open my album to everyone.

Bruder has good details that appeal to scale modelers like doors that can open, a nicer dashboard, etc. They also have figurines is to scale so you can really have the driver figure you want. the colours are vibrant and has that toy look. However there are so many RC conversions done (although mostly on Construction vehicles), basically, with a good clean scrub, a nice coat of primer and you can recreate any colour scheme you want.

Surprisingly this was shown to me by infamous Mr O, like that Evergreen container.

The problem is finding chassis that fits the truck's body, including making sure the wheelbase, the axle width and rim/tyres look almost scale. In future, after my ambulance experience, I might custom chassis with cannibalised parts from elsewhere. H.K. has good spares I can adopt to fit and the brushless kits these days can fight Brushed motor/esc combos. Since we are going for scale truck speed and not like race car speeds, it's quite easy to achieve that.

The photo could have been even longer because 1 guy got his Leopard tank on the table undergoing field repairs.

Overall very nice meetup, even the rain did little to dampen the spirits and the roar of all the tanks, really drown out everyone else including the trucks.

What is also really nice is that there are actually 2 very special custom trucks in that photo, the 2 P cabs which is smaller than the R series and more common in Sg.

                              Wedico drop deck trailer

I kinda like the Wedico drop deck trailer that you got. Probably because I just fixed up Lego Technic Excavator.
If it sits nicely, that would push me very hard me to start this hobby. Is there any other low deck trailer similar to this?
Where did you buy the trailer from? How much does it cost? Appreciate the advise.Thanx.

                                Hi e36,

                                Look at art #21. http://www.wedico.de/eng/fahrgestelle_tieflader.asp

Garden trucking and Carson produces low flatbed trailers too. http://gardentrucking.com/DropdeckTr...98553028933657

The price should be in the S$600-1k region. Bought it using the Singapore shares payout or dividend a few years back.
