Next D - Rave - Mini Build Thread

Ok, let me do a mini build thread of the Next D - Rave.

The Rave easily accomodates main rotor blades up to 350mm in lenght. This paves the way fr a wide variety of setup options and flight characteristics.

3s, 4s AND 6s, the possibilities are endless.

The Rave's torque tube tail drive system eliminates static, drag, and slippage issues providing outstanding tail authority for awesome 3D and autorotation performance.

Precision machined carbon fiber and aluminum components provides quality, value, and performance right out of the box. No upgrades are necessary!

    Length - 16.125 inch
    Height - 10 inch
Main Rotor Diameter - 28 inch
Tail Rotor Diameter - 6 inch
    Weight - 1 LB. 13.2 oz
    Gears: Main - 177 teeth
    Pinions - 12 & 13 teeth

    Instruction Manual

A detailed full colour instruction manual is included in the kit, easing initial setup. The thorough instructions will have you in the air in no time at all.

Setup Video and manual are also available on the manufacturer website for download.

      Packaging

Let's start with packaging. Everything is pack nicely as you would expect of a premium brand. All components in pack separately according to each setup steps. I am surprise to see the scorpion metal box is included.

1st impression when I received the Rave - "Dam it is a small, I forgot the feeling of an 450 size heli for so long. It should be good to be back on this size heli and this particular Next-D Rave."

Nice to see the build thread started ( and geat to see the "waiting game" thread over! i was expecting you to tell us the postmans hair colour and show size next )

Looks like a cool kit > can you PM me some dimensions of the main frame.

In conjunction with the guys a scalerheli i started a "heli dimension" chart for reference for us all to share. Post your Rave dims and get your name on the list. Try to be as accurate as possible

Hosted at home at the mo but going to a "proper" site soon.

          Cheers ....keep the pics coming

            Frame

I like the frame, very clean and neat design, the carbon frame is about 1.5mm thickness. no flex after fixing up.

Which swash servo's are you going to use?

I use HS65MG....very difficult to get them fastened when the heli is already build.....damn !

cool...let me measure again with a better instrument.
Tks for the tips, may be I should put the servos in before I fix up the tail.

                            TT and size - COOL

Now I am really happy with this build.
The TT is so smooth and look at the size of Rave seating beside the Protos (with Trex 500 type canopy).

Is this a trex450 size or 500 size heli? certainly looks bigger than trex450.
                              Whiplashing soon?
