The best recommendations for outrunner motors for the Airfoilz Yak54 and Edge540 are to go for the ones with RPM between 900-1000 Kv.
A clearer hint would be going fo AXI2212/XX or a Hacker A20/XXL or motors closer to these specs. Prop sizes to opt for APC 10x4.7SF / 11x4.7 depending on motor's torque...

are this ratings equivalent to the new GWS BL motor specs?

The new GWS BL motors are quite close to the AXI but no one has tried them on yet. Would you like to review them if you have one?
Kindly take notice to the prop shaft of the GWS BL Motors, they are elongated so applications for APC E / SF props must becareful and apply the right hub collar to fit the diameter of the prop.

By the way we have flown the sample Yak54 and it really flies like a gasser both indoor and outdoor. To some witnesses at the flying field, it can glides very very well with throttle cut all the way till landing...Will try to post a video soon.

Finally done a video of the Yak54 in Singapore - not as good as how the Americans thrashed this Yak around but errr... will keep trying
No doubt had 4 crashes in the course of this video but heck - It's still in 1 piece

Just to share my setup which flown well and can hover (just my skill suck)

Motor: AXI 2212/20 (not new, relatively old)
Prop: APC 10x5
ESC: MGM25A
Bat: Old Etec 1250
Rx: Airtechnic 6ch
Servos: Airtechnic AT80

Since this is a light setup, easy take off and landing. with no wind condition, it hover by it self - not me as I still learning..

A little more work to build the plane than I expected but still manageable.
