I have finally maiden the Astro Hydro 127
Thanks for coming today to witness this flopping blop of foam flying around And i must thank Rajoo (Mechplas) for taking beautiful pics of my Hydro's maiden flight, soooo many pics he took!!! Thanks Rajoo
Just managed to crop the pictures for uploading until now
I've decided to change out the Himark BL outrunner motor, it sucks I've put in the Himax 2025-4200kv c/w 4:1 gearbox, APC 9X6E cut down to 7.5" diameter (i didn't have APC 8x6E, so use existing APC9X6E), powerful now If anyone is building this, please keep your prop size below 8" diameter
AUW (All Up Weight) is about 465 grammer w/o flight battery, mine is ETEC 1250 3S1P weighing in at 92 grammes, so total weight RTF = 557 grammes
Amps draw is about 11.7amps, i highly recommend using 20C discharge lipo batteries, for mine is only 12C 1250mah, amps cut at about 13 amps , i actually have to reduce my throttle ATV to about 32% (normal is 100%), but it's adequate to fly this AstroHydro. I hope to have higher discharge lipo batteries down the line so i won't have to resort to meddling with the throttle ATV, it's not getting the full potential out of the BL motor setup and i'm very sure it can be more powerful and fly faster with a 20C discharge lipo.
Motor Upthrust is about 6 to 7 degrees.
Aileron throws, left = 10mm, right = 10mm
Elevator throws, up=10mm, down = 10mm
