well i jumped forward a bit to the first real test flight
i had a few teething troubles with wrong prop selection and engine upthrust angle
but its all sorted now and she flys.....straight up into trees!!
only a quick video running down the road -had to deal with cars and children oh and a tree lol
gonna find an open space for the next try- maybe get some hieght up!!

        Low passes, in sequence.

The Astro Hydro 127 is stable, no kidding, just keep prop size below 8", mine is 7.5", to minimise prop torque effect on the whole craft, then it would fly stable.

        you mean 7 x 5

Hi everyone Im very new to the ep side of rc a friend have me a hyperion HP-Z2209-26 motor, Hyperion 20amp ESC will that be enough grunt to power this hydro?

im using a cheap 2208-21 motor on mine -that puts out about 600grams thrust which for the second hydro i have made will be plenty
i think your motor is in the 900gram thrust area??
just keep it as light as you can and it should be fine i would think
i remade mine with just single layer depron now to keep the weight down- and it's nearly half the weight of the first one! probably end up 2/3rds the weight so it will go vertical now!
post up a few pics as you build

So would I have to use a gearbox or just drive the prop straight off the shaft? the motor and esc came straight off the Hyperion "miss hyperion hydro" kit, the hyperion kit seems only about 1in smaller in lenght and about 3-4in smaller in width

I just checked their web site it says the motor is 1120kv is that ok or abit weak sorry about all the questions but is doesent have a piston so im really lost

mine is a few less winds than yours so my Kv is 1700 ish but yours should be ok
just attach direct drive no need for a gearbox! prop size about a 8x4 slowfly type(bendy orange ones)
if you build it and its not quite got enough oomph then its a simple job to upgrade your motor only -and still be ok on that 20amp ESC.

                    motor size

Hi, I am building a Hydro Foam. Can I use 1130kv motor with 9x47 prop to fly it? Batt will be 1500mah 15C. Any suggestion is welcome.

                      Maiden today, AND IT FLEW!!!

Hey, I maiden this ATV today and surprisingly it flew. Made a few adjustment on the CG. Few few flights got the CG too far back, resulting when it rises up in the air, there was no control over it. Luckily it floats quite well even with zero throttle to bring it down.

Guess i need to get a higher kv motor cause with the current setup of 1130kv and 9x47 prop, i need almost 3/4 to full throttle to keep it running on ground and fly in the air.

I may be a bit way back when it comes to this ATV (All Terrain Vehicle), but few suggestion pls!!! Does it helps when I use say 2100kv motor?
