if its those stunt kites where u bought them?
If you clicked on the pic to enlarge it, you'll be able to see there are 2 lines. Yup, it's a stunt kite.
The only place I know in SG that sells those kind of kite is at Marina South. Cost quite a bomb.
You can also order through the internet.
Or, if you are good with your hands, you can make one. There are plenty of plans available in the net. You can buy ripstop nylon from Spotlight and carbon spars from LHS.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.
Sometime ago...seen one guy playing this kite at MS. Then our plane was like very close to his kite. Very dangerous. Then once my SP glider was entangled on someone's kite & crashed. The guy like "act" blur. Well... make sure u fly plane without any kites around else u'll follow the same fate as me.
Luckily my plane minor damaged though.

One of the cheapest online shops for kites: www.bilboquet.com (In France)
They having sale on 11/1...donno how good. Justin, if u want, let me know, I order together and we can split shipping.
Don't think anyone sells power/traction kites in S'pore.
actually my frens got it in perth.. the shop name is acehobby i think
they told me it only cost 5 australian dollars.
there are many kinds too. some even look like a mustang. got bi planes too.
theres another one that is called combat kite. looks cool tho..
how much is the price of one when ordered? if it is not that expensive maybe we could share the shipping. =)
I wanted to buy a 5m power kite for kite jumping. Saw this video on kite jumping on the net and it was awesome. The jumper could get to heights of few storeys.. but its dangerous of course

This is good news. Where do you normally fly? I'm thinking of getting a 4m kite...not for jumping... I just want to feel the pull. But shipping charges from France is abt SGD60...which is pretty heavy! (And that's the cheapest charge I've come across!)
Anyway, the rain's really messing up my flying plans.
Hmm. So you don't have one yet. Maybe you can have a look at the French site I mentioned and see what you like. My Ozone Imp is a 1m kite. Ozone is French-made. So it's cheaper to get from France. But Ozone is one of the premier brands...expensive. I was eyeing their Fury 3m...much nicer...abt SGD450!!
I would be looking at a 2m 2line power kite for learning first then moving on to the larger ones.
By the way, I intend to fly at bishan park. Its just a 5 min walk away from my house.
There's no where to get power/traction kites in S'pore. Not that I know of.
I usually fly at Punggol Beach. Stronger, more consistent winds, especially from 4+ onwards and the wind does not change direction all the time. I tell you, inconsistent wind is EXTREMELY frustrating.
So, I hope Bishan Park winds blow strong and consistently, especially if you have smaller kites.
