Art, honestly i can't tell 1 pic from another. Really appreciate the effort you guys want to tell me here but then i'm looking at a camera which can do zoom and a good shutter speed.
The sensor thingy seems lower but overall the FZ35 seems to fit my usage more and frankly the FX35 also look nicer
Any good lobang for a deal ?

Correct me if i'm wrong but if i want to get something close up or something far away, i need to use different lens for a DSLR? Also i can't really find any average DSLR with a budget of $600

Megapixels don't count for nothing.
The large CCD is what makes the IQ very good.Conquer Your Stick!!

LX3 diagonal sensor size is 15.5 mm.
EOS 550D diagonal sensor size is 26.8 mm from the dimension you gave me. sqrt(a^2+b^2)
Not accounting for difference between CMOS and CCD and a million other factors. I'm not expert either. I just know some facts that's all.
"Good enough" is very subjective. Don't just look at megapixels. Look at the reviews.

CCD size alone does not garrantees a great picture ...you have to take into account the lenses and processor of the camera.
Reviews are a good way to find out more ! ...I find this: http://www.dpreview.com/ a good source of information.Seriously running out of ...Storage space !
