i love the car! Mine is on 15" rims. I've yet to complete my first tank, only at 300km :P

I'll let you know again, but it will not be accurate as i've not even ran in the engine.

Not sure if this is true but heard from 1 of my friend that those cars are already 'ran in' even before we gets the car.

Yes all engines are ran in/tuned at the factory to a certain amount. But we are still required to run in the CAR for the first 1000k and then change the engine oil. This includes engine, transmission, etc etc...

THis is as per user's manual and my knowledge. Correct me if i am wrong though. Any body want to shed more light on this?

Complete run in should be after 10,000km of travel. After run in, when synthetic oil is used, it will then show the real fuel consumption based on your driving patterns.

B4 10,000km, my FC is only 11-12km/L. Now its constant 13km/L and if 80% highway, its 15km/L. And I dont drive slow. Always first off the lights and lane 1 only on expressway.

BTW, my driving pattern is 80% city and 20% highway. I drive on major rds on weekdays and highways on weekends only. Gotta avoid ERP lah.

              Oops, mine is a Axio.

                  Hur???

Most important is to know the max torque at which rpm. Flooring the accelerator does not neccessary give u the max torque.

Look at tis example of graph. Max torque is at ard 4,200rpm. So adjust ur driving according to the torque, u should have smooth acceleration w/o wasting much fuel. If you wana go top speed, then have to look at BHP.

                    According to : http://www.oneshift.com/pdb/car_overview.php?pid=2095

                    Max Torque: 156 Nm / 4200 rpm

when you moved off , were you in "D" mode or "S" mode?

just to get some tips from you how to move off fast on an Auto car.

                      thanks

My car is 100% stock. Move off in D mode.

Its just that Singaporeans very gentle with their accelerator. I know my peak torque is at 4000+rpm, so I just step on the accelerator till 3000rpm on moving off.

Step too hard at 4000rpm will wheel spin on moving off. Will waste petrol and cause more tyre wear.

Try it and u will know wat I mean.

                            Swee !

I tried the new Wish2.0 Dual VVT, move off is slightly slow, maybe I didn't step more on the accelerators...cancelled my downpayment of S$1000 refundable deposit, as I somehow feel its not time to buy yet.

Still, I fall back to my old trusted Suzuki Liana 1.3 Manual, move-off, filter-out lanes is a breeze...no delays...

but most of the time I test drive cars are all Auto, and I liked the Forte best....

Side Track a bit...anybody know about changing the air-con compressor oil ?

Shell charges S$150 to flush & change new compressor oil.

Autobacs charges S$80 (Japanese car) to top up gas + compressor oil, plus removing of particles inside the air-con compressor.

I asked other shops, they said nobody change compressor oil one lah...just top up only.

Did a search in Internet, compressor oil need to be changed to keep the compressor in tip-top condition to prevent early breakdown.

So I'm lost, which is which ?

For air-con compressor, if it aint broken, dont fix it. The only way to remove particles from the compressor completely is to strip the compressor open into pieces. But if you really have to remove particles, means your compressor up lorry already. The air-con system is a closed loop working system.

It is the same as your refrigerator compressor, do you do servicing for it???

The last time I changed the whole air-con compressor to a brand new one, it cost me S$300 only.

I highly recommend this car air-con repair specialist. No bull-sh!t one.

This is what I need. cos the rest of the air-con vendors kept giving me confusing things about each other...due to competition naturally...
