    Recommend GPS Navigation system

Can anyone recommend a good and accurate one? My driving directions suck so i really need one to travel around

Currently running one on a PDA.. but the screen is really small etc.

Currently I am using Garmin Que with my mini O2. I have a seperate receiver that is under my dashboard. The cost for my setup excluding O2 is under $250.
If you want to spend more, you can get those dedicated GPS hardware for > $800. There is a shop just above Skyhobby that carries Garmin GPS systems.

        Hi Adrian
So you are also one of those how are caught in Tibo crab copyrights. I had an argument with the sales guy in one of the motor show. I was using both the Mapking and the Kingmap b4 and it had update problem.
Most of the time we are using maps of Singapore and Malaysia and I feel that there is no better updates than user comtributing to the software details. Malsing does not have the best search or navigation engine but you get there. The other software that you may want to consider is the Agis www.agis.com.sg. It not too bad, you can search via postal code but it the price of the software you have to pay.

I have a standalone GPS (small one w 3.5inch screen) with the agis maps. Its distributed by these folks (hanman.net) but I bought it thru compasspoint homefix. Compared to the Mapking that I had on my HP iPaq, this is a whole lot better in terms of accuracy and navigation.

It goes to address point data and is ok. But I think the issue of the proprietary maps will be present as well since this thing also uses Agis maps. There is also no known policy for the updating of maps. I have been going to the shop of the distributor for the update.

use malsingmaps.com's map. they are updated every month, and it is free.

As for GPS, it really depends on what u need. For me, I was happy with my bluetooth GPS untill I started participating in GeoCaching. The bluetooth GPS served me well when I drive around, but it is just too cumbersome to carry the GPS, map, PDA and go around bashing in the forest.

              Now I have a Garmin60Csx.
              huh

all along I have been using standalone GPSes and i find that the PDA/BT combo is a bit leychey. Graphic Mapping functions is kinda useless because most likely you will tend to flip out your analogue street directory becoz it's faster.

By the time you toggle your PDA software, by the time you turn on the BT receiver & BT in your pda, and by the time BT receiver gets a lock-on to the satellites, I would have found what I wanted on the good old analogue map in my car...

The good old Garmins are still the best in GPS systems because they're 'open', unlike Tibo & Mapkings/PDA/BT GPS combos.

New ones, standalone unit, I dont think so. But I heard u can purchase the Garmin from overseas which cost abt S$500-600+. However they come wif europe map free and no SG or MY maps. But u can download it here.

Warranty will be an issue here, will need to send it back. Upgrades, not very sure.

Check out the garmin website I posted above. They have a range of products. Get one that suits ur budget, same as Tx, get the best u can afford.

One question.. If you get those standalone GPS such as the Garmin Nuvi series, will you be able to update the malsingmap maps inside? Is there some way to transfer over? or have to use the maps already inside.
