If things got misaligned due to kids meddling around while you were not aware of, one day accidents will happen.
I also dont bring my kid to watch me fly. You will never know...
i may not agree with u on certain issues but I both hands and legs agree with u on this one. Yes, you never know....

Maybe I transit too fast to 550. Should I fly 450 instead?

I think my problem is Me. Skill not good enough. Hover above ground 1cm. and I not confident. I throttle down. Skill not good enough.

If you think the heli is not tilting in any ways then I believe you just need to break your own personal barrier and push the stick once to lift up for a second, about couple inch from ground, then back down again

Do that many times. You will be fine.
It's reason because your fine motor skills is not "connected" to your eyes yet.

                              big thanks to Dave

Heartfelt thanks for keeping me company whilst I tore the bird apart. Surprisingly I didn't feel that sad...just stoopid pissed why I didn't take the extra effort to change the bearings. Oily + messy = incessant nagging...huge NO-NO.

Dun need to fly 450. U can stick with the 550, just need to have discipline and hover strictly over for next 3 months.
