This is long overdue but some of us have been meeting up for the last few saturdays for a funfly. All super nice people and since getting into nitro, I have regained my passion for flying. This is despite my 700N taking a smack into the ground owing to some mechanical mishap. Chris & Ah Fong were so nice to have accompanied me in the walk of shame. Feeling wasn't good but it was an oversight on my part. Well, it's not a crash but an opportunity to upgrade. Surprisingly, damage was bad, less than $100 of new parts. In fact, it only took two hours to rebuild and I am ready to crash again

Sumtin I learnt abt WD40

If any flyers are using this product, it's actually very effective as well as corrosive. See pics to believe. After some gentle persuasion by Shikai and lots of spoon-feeding by Mr Curtis Youngblood in youtube, I decided to change the bearings of the align 91h engine. When I removed the old bearings, it was merely rusty but the retainer still looked alright. Anyway I soaked the front & rear bearing in wd40. After a mere two days, this was the result. Really effective rust remover but methinks it removed more than just rust.

When I did reservist in 2001, many of us would pool $ and we would buy a BIG spray can of wd40 cos our hands are made to strip women and not rifles during ICT...anyway, moving on, after live firing, practically the entire battalion would use this product to clean weapons esp the big guns. Save for the major "farking" session by our armourer during weapons inspection, I did not give too much thought to it. Now I know why we always kena left right & centre from the WO.

Those last 2 weekends were good fun.
Apart from us crashing our birds on some stupid mechanical / electrical failures... but we still got lucky in our misfortune, very minor damages and we're both back in the race for next weekend!

Can't wait to try out my 600 Big Block again! got a Tarot ZYX setup on it now... see how this one holds on nitro vibes.
PS : Francis if you're reading, I still owe you big time! Will let you know when I get it flying ok.

Well, i just finished taking the 700n apart. Installed kbdd dampeners. Well, the clutch looks ok but I bought a new one from rcs anyway. Will def need a new clutch liner cos the heli reeks of burnt brake pads. Flushed the engine with alcohol and then dunked it in corrosionX. Now I will await the arrival of the 800 extension kit and the bird will be ready to rip the skies on Sat Anyway, I will still run it on 700mains cos the price of 800 is absolute bananas! Now sourcing for cheapo 800 FG blades and see if it really flies BIG. Hopefully it will fit into my tiny ride.

Bro, Audi fast fast can reach siltronic in less than 15mins but watch out for speed trap.

Ya, I heard it from Victor Shi-fu that the developer doing some soil testing of sorts. Sighz, better fly there more often cos dunno when they will cordon off the area.
