    Advice on electronics for eraptor

Hi all, just gotten myself a e550 wif extended boom (to run 600mm or 610mm blades), and was wondering wat kind of setup will be suitable for it. As I am just a beginner, and the electronics used will most probably be for sports flying, please advice me on the electronics to be used. Budget wise, not very big

Below are some ideas that I am looking at..

    Motor - scorpion hk4025-740kv
ESC - CC85HV (or is the stock BLC-65A ESC enough?)
    Cyclic Servos - HS5625MG or HS5645MG or HP-DS20FMD
    Tail servo - HP-DS20GMD or 8900G or ???
    Gyro - GY401 or JR770T or Solid G or ???
BEC - Turnigy 15A bec (from Genexis erpator build thread)
    Batts - 2 x 5s 3300mah Zippy batts

Do leave some comments on the above setup and if possible and recommendations.. My intention will be that hopefully the above mentioned setup will enable me to move to intermediate level.

    Thank you all..
    Thunder Tiger 50 Titan SE
    YS 56SR wif Hatori muffler
    Align DS610 for cyclics
    JR770T + JR8900G
    JR DSX9

    Mikado Logo 400SE
    Savox BSM 1650KV + CC85HV
    MKS9660 for cyclics
    Mini Vbar 5.2 Pro + BLS251
    JR DSX9

If have budget, then better don't go for CC85 cause that would set you back almost $300 just the ESC. You can try looking at Hobbycity for those Turnigy ESCs. I used an 80A on my Protos with no issues at all. Value for money.

Motor wise Scorpion would be a good choice. What Kv depends on what teeth pinion you want to run and how much amp you expect your lipo to take.

Those hyperion servos I used on my Raptor50T with no issues at all. Held well and never strip a single gear on my 3 crashes 1 of which is a major one.

JRG770T might be slightly tricky to set and it is different from most gyros. I am using it on my Trex600N. From what I can do with it, I would say it is a superb gyro and I trust it more than 401. Pair it with a Futaba9254.

      Hope it helps.

Futaba 9255 is off my budget for servos. Would love to have them but my pocket doesnt allow... hahahah

Where can I find spartan and how much will be combo be like, in terms of $$

As for the batts, I have already gotten them (thanks to noob) Maybe can look at the ones you recommended as my second pack.

I am looking at sports flying, so I guess the amp draw will not be too great, based on some online calculation that my fren have sent the link to me, and thats why I choose 740kv over 890kv..

Just looked at the turnigy ESC, the 80A you mentioned are for up to 6s only ya? I saw a 100A ESC, but dunno if can be used.. Basically I choose CC was coz my mini titan uses cc35 and it is a good esc in my opinion.. And had also read up from other forums that CC85 is a popular choice. The other better option will be CC110, which is way beyond my budget

For the gyro, I guess its between the 770T or the Solid G

Thank you for your advice too

MBRC selling them at $350 but should be slightly lesser after discount. Can call up Steve. If have budget I would advise against Spartan. For normal flying a JRG770T is more than enough and will last you a long long way.

For $350, you can get a JRG770T with tail servo combo. The servo is darn good. Now Roto has discount now.

Reason for me thinking of using Hitec servos was also because Rotor is having 20% X'mas discount for Hitec serovs... If there's reviews not soo good about them, I will skip hitec than to crash my heli...

don't skimp on ESC. This is i'll say the most important piece of electronic. Go for CC or Jazz, but in this case, HV85 will be a good choice.

The electronics required to fly your heli will cost close to $1K
Buy this http://www.daddyhobby.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38739 and you have a spare heli

I'd go with either JR770T/3D or Spartan heheh. From what I've been hearing all this time, I gather these are the 2 most highly recommended gyros.

I'm using JRG770T for my Trex600N and Protos as well as my 450 size previously. The tail holds superbly even at fast tail slides. I have full authority during reverse flights. Mine are paired with 9257 and 9254. If you intend to get one and needs help pls let me know.
