Depends on what you wanna use for your electronics. If you're gonna go 10s, don't expect a cheap setup, the batteries alone will kill you if you're going to use lipos. You can’t really enjoy with 1 battery, at least 2-3 pcs for a nice day at the field. Trust me, I know from experience. Hehe
For servos, you can use hitec 6965's coz they're cheaper than futaba 9252s, gyro, try the spartan or logitech as they're both cheap and good. As for the motor, I think the cheapest ones you can get that are available locally in singapore are the z-power motors from RCE. Pretty good motors based on my experience. esc - use CC 85HV, well proven already.
Don't skimp on the batteries, choosing a brand that is not reputable will make you regret it later. Choose brand that will give good performance and that is proven to last. And lastly, no need to get the CF version, the aluminum version works fine and a crash with a CF frame that will break your frame will cost you a ton more than the aluminum ones.« « « Hirobo R/F Freya Twister - 12FGh » » »

10s setup and low end electronics is not recommended for any big e-helis at all. It will still fly, but u're going to be flying with a high risk tag.[B]Radio Control Sports Pte Ltd

Having been thru quite a few burnt ESC on the boat, I'll say stick to those recommended esc. Someone has already done the experimenting so dont try it again.Originally posted by Heli_fanaticbtw the esc .. are there cheaper alternatives beside the 315 dollar hv85
A good one will last u longer.
