I order parts for my Waikera 55 directly from HK. There's a shop in Sim Lim Square that sells Waikera stuff but the spares supply is very bad. They don't even have common stocks such as batts and blades for my model...
I'm trying to find out what are the common spares that need replacing on helicopters. Is there anyone who can give me some tips on this just so that I know what spares to stock up. many Thanks

most of the walkeras are clone of another heli. the walkera 39 if i remembered correctly , is a clone of the trex. the 36 is a cross of Zap and .. erm..Shogun isit ? lolz i catn remember.
my first heli was a walkera #4 brought back from china and its a mistake. The parts everywhere also cannot find one. Tried to use esky one but some of it just cannot fit. End up have to order online and the shipping is more exp then the item itself.
Advise all to get those heli which our LHS have spare parts.

1. Disconnect everything from the receiver, except for the main motor, check if the main motor is responding to your transmitter throttle input. If main motor is responding, next check the tail motor. I think you would have already done this by now. If the receiver is dead, you can buy a new one from www.hobbyjapan2000.com, www.ehirobo.com, or www.walkera.com.hk. Hobbyjapan2000 offer the cheapest price for most items among these three.
2. Once you have determined main and tail motors are working fine, disconnect them and reconnect all the servos. Make sure that at the back of the transmitter switch no 8, NOR/CCPM, is in the on position.
3. If any of your servo does not centre then probably the pin connected to the main gear of the servo is a goner. I tried putting super glue to glue the pin back, it did not work. Go get a new set of 3 servos from www.ehirobo.com (cheapest among all three on line shops for servos). US $20 for a set of 3, plus US $2++ for shipping. I don't know how much you get it locally.
4. Assuming your servos are working fine, get the servo horns as close to 90 degree as possible, there will be slight differences among them, don't fret over this, just get them as best as you can. Power up the receiver and the trasmitter, adjust the linkages from servo horns to swash plate so that it is level.
5. Adjust the linkages to the blade holder to give a slight positive pitch to the blades with the throttle stick at the lowest position. I don't do 3D and adjusted mine this way so that the heli does not slam to the ground when I throttle down.
6. Adjust the fly bars so that they are parallel to one another, just eyeball it.
7. Reconnect the motors and power up receiver and transmitter, hold the heli firmly in your hand and throttle up, adjust the blades so that they are tracking. Prior to doing this, make sure you balance your blades. Adjust the linkages to the blade holder. You should be able to feel the heli wanting the lift off your hand.
8. Now adjust the transmitter. Turn on switch 11, turn V2 knob all the way to 100 for full exponential, turn V1 knob to 0 for now, you can adjust this later according to your preference.
9. Turn off switch 11. Turn on switch 10, Pit Lock. Turn V2 knob to -20 and V1 knob to 0.
10. Turn off switch 10, turn on switch 12, gyro sen/ rudd mix. Turn V2 knob all the way to 100 for HH mode, turn V1 knob to 10 for the mixing, you can readjust these later according to your feel for the heli.
11. Turn off switch 12. Put on your training gear if you have one, otherwise be brave and start praying. Find an empty space so you don't kill anyone, multistorey parking lot is a good place to try it out. Make sure you choose a deck where there are no cars.
12. Throttle up and hover. If the heli does not want to lift up, turn on switch 10 again and turn V2 knob to -10, leave the switch on, and try to hover the heli again. If the heli lifts off, you can turn off switch 10, otherwise adjust v2 again to a higher value, 0. If the heli lifts off too aggressively, decrease the value of V2 to negative.
