The Mini Titan Thread

Like some people here, I am pending on my preorder for mini titan, and is thrashing around to better understand my motor options. So far, my research (if somewhat shallow) turns up that much of the config are close to trex, 120 teeth main gear, but it is heavier nonetheless at 750g as listed.

huh? that's the futaba digital servo (3154).. come with a few horns lor..kekekek as for how much amps for a ESC supporting a trex? dunno leh.
align do sell the trex with their 25A ESC. i kiasu.. use CC 35A

Depending on your flying style and motor ....gentle hovering and FFF = 25A ESC can already.

Wild and scary 3D flying, you'll need at least 30A continous current rating ESC.

I would suppose the stock esc and motor will be a good starting point to get a very good idea of what kinda range the mini titan's power system requires.

In fact, i wouldn't be surprised if the stock esc and motor is one of the best performing power setups for the mini titan.

so most 3D setup actually do not need 30A esc unless we are having mega motor or some hot ones?

It would be better to leave some overheads in terms of current limits if using for 3D, burst currents can peak pretty high at times.

But generally speaking, for helis of the mini titan, trex 450 size, 30amps will be a good guideline.

ah, the man with the stock speaks. how the order coming?

I guess I could use my 30A apache first. what about bluebird servos? anyone have experience with them? is rotor holding the f3154?

Rotors was loaded with them for just a few days before the arf + motor & esc version were wiped out.

anyone got anything interesting to report?

why not a JGF 500th for the motor? Its the biggest from the JGF series for now.

Sorry, only manage to get a ARF heli only version so cannot comment on the motor and ESC.

Initial 'out of the box' impressions

1) Tail Boom is 14mm instead of the usual 12mm as in Trex types and copies.
(Nice to see Daiso run out of 14mm tubes instead of the 12mm ones for a change)

2) Blade holders are like 6mm grips, so you'll need lots of spacer if you're intending to run Align's blade here.

3) Lots of parts molded as 1 piece item, the main frame is a work of art and I'm still trying to figure out how they manage to mold it as 1 piece with all the details. The landing skids are also 1 piece, you'll either like them or hate them.

4) Lovely owner's manual ! ....written in proper English and not a translated Chinese job.

5) Got the BEST tail rotor Mechanism of any micro heli I've ever seen ! .....super duper smooth !

i wonder if jgf 500 could do well with 4s a123 M1 batteries...or even emoli?

anyone heard of these z-power z10a-3300? google sourced nothing, which ggoodrum in rcgroups are using them with 4s a123.
