Starter Modification

Buggy Newbie need advise please.

I am thinking of converting the pull starter of my NB16 to a shaft electric starter just like those used on helicopter.

Was searching for some differential gears and come across this picture which I think I can easily DIY to convert my pull starter to a shaft starter.

Here's the picture. Just wondering where I can get these kinda differential gears so that I can fabricate an alu frame to fit the design.

i think some places sells the conversion.

But so far only see it at Taising. Its a direct replacement for the pull start. However i'm not sure if it'll fit ur Nb16

er need to check will it going to break ur one way bearing or not? coz 1 way bearing is not cheap. hope this helps...

I think its under $30, i cant remember. Try asking in rctech. There is someone working at Taising posting there.

Put in place a big outrunner and gear it

Then you had an onboard starter!

Wow that's an ingenious idea indeed!

I will go try and if success, we can start a company to sell 'out-runner starter'

But...but I think this idea is too much outside the box leh. My NB 16 is only a micro mini 'Proton Kancil' how to stuff in the motor?

I have to agree with you on this one.

This little buggy is actually quite powerful for its size. Just prefer to have it converted to electric start leh.

I think I have found the solution to convert the NB16 to shaft start. Parts are available at Taising indeed.

May need some modification and will share on seperate thread once ready.
