I've just upgraded my E-savage with a Feigao 7L 3500 KV brushless motor with mamba max running on stock batteries (12 cells).

Ran it with all wheels in air. The tires expanded so much that they look like pancakes........ I tot they were going to fly off. Will test it at the MSCP tomorrow.

Ok first trial at the viod deck...

The truck was a lot slower than the stock motors..... Was damn surprised. Initial tot was that my $260 was wasted on the esc and the motor.

Decided to see wat is wrong. So I held my hand against the truck and applied full throttle. Realised that the slipper gear was slipping like crazy. I forgot to tighten it.

2nd run:

After tightening the slipper, I went to try it at the same place again. Applied full throttle expecting to see the truck wheelie or flip on its back..... nothing.... but the front wheels raised up slightly off the ground. probably the void deck is very dusty and there is very little grip. The truck was drifting all the way. Will try on the road later.

Was throttling and braking all the way. Doing driftings and spinning out of control.......

The mamba max esc shut down due to overheating after only 7 minutes. Very hot (close to 80 degrees) to the touch but not yet damaging. I think I need a small fan. The motor is only hot (close to 60 degrees). I can still hold my finger on it as long as I like to.

There wasn't enough space to see its top speed. I will say that it is about 5-7 mph faster than stock only. But the runtime (well it is only a gauge because the most I can get out the stock setup is 10 min and by 7 min, the stock setup was already slowing down however the brushless setup was still going very strongly) and the acceleration are much better than stock. Quite a disappointment in the speed department. Perhaps if I get lighter batteries like lipo, the truck can go faster since the stock batteries weigh alot.

Is there any person living near kovan with a 7cell stock e-savage set up? maybe we can race together? I wanna see how my setup perform.

Ok I think I can get lighter wheels and lighter batteries. Anything else? Should I get a better motor? Currently using Feigao 7L 3511KV brushless motor with stock pinion.

How long is your run time? Where do u normally play it?

Havent really test how long it runs...just play at my mscp as its quite heavy to lug around without a car.Anyway the motor are cooled by heatsink/fan as it gets kinda hot on 14cell IB4200mah..The wheels are still spanking new...heheh

woo.. 4200s can last u pretty long.. MTs are heavy, requires alot of juice.. cant play for very long...

Wahh I very sad and happy.

Tried my brushless E-savage at the carpark just now. I just squeeze the trigger and it simply wheelied, landed on its back and tumbled for a few metres.

I tried it on a stretch of 20m road and damn it was fast. I gauged it to be around 50km/h. But that was not the full speed yet. The road was quite wet though. Before I could try it on a longer stretch of road, the dogbone from the front left wheel broke. wahh very sad leh......

Installed a fan but I can't even test if the esc will over heat with the fan on...

Oh running mamba max with 12 cells nimh + feigao 3511KV 7 brushless motor. Total cost is around $260 for the setup.
