I used a servo+microswitch+relay for reverse function on Invisible Angel's Yamato.

The servo is plugged into Channel 5 of the RX. When toggled, the servo will move and press on the microswitch, which turn on the relay. The relay is place between the ESC and motor and when activated, it will reverse the polarity. The relay was wired by my dad, who is more experience with electronic stuffs.

nor esc (gws) + a mechanical limit switch....

Pic of my toy tank with such arrangement ......work fine for me
Hi Lyon, what you did is to reverse the polarity power for the motor right? that means another switch for the the servor?
If the building stops, the buying starts!

What you did is the same as Lyon right? Sorry did not see your post before posting. Any pic? Cos space is a concern.

Hmm cool, but won't it be a bit awkward to control forward/reverse via another stick?

Think mine is similar to that of babyboy except without the relay.....I direct the pwr output from esc after the microswitch. So the motor receive DC pwr of diff polarity. I used chr 5 too , gear chr. BTW is not that back as u dont go backward v offen ..... unless u a

use small servo and micro switch should not be a problem...... only thing is all the soldering and wiring work

what raw parts are u refering to

for servo, any micro servo will work......cheaper the better ..... since load and response is not an important issue here.

those micro switch are from sim lim tower, they sold many diff sizses with current rating too.

I used relay because all my microswitch are those 1amp type. So using relay to bear the amp loading instead of the switch.

won't be awkward to control lah. Just treat it as driving a car loh, u need to engage reverse gear to drive backward.

agree , especially for slow moving model like tank and battleship. You dont need a fast change in direction anyway
