where do you guys buy your boats?
Looks like we found out rescue tug

NTC at FookHai had one of these approx $500+ , if my memory serves me correctly. Rotor does sell some boats as well so does Toykar. If u like scale I guess NTC wud be the place to shop.

Aquacraft mostly & some prathers hardware. Boats and their associated hardware is quite hard to find in Sg so often we order hardware from websites like www.fastelectrics.com or www.offshoreelectrics.com. as for boats egenrally shipping to Sg is a killers cos of the size but I guess its possible to order from Tower hobbies and use Vpost?

          Whats your main interest?
          Leisure or speed ?
Then ask yourself if you want to spend a bit of money now and more later or more now and less later?
There are plenty of boats styles and disciplines to choose

hi dirtdynamics..thanks for the pointers. I might have a better feel after visiting pp this weekend. for now, i can say it is more for leisure..hence a slow boat like a tug boat would be good enuf..will it cost a lot? since i can't say how far will i really get into it, i don't think i want to spend a lot now. thanks again..

              Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.........
              really depends liao....
A normal "play" tug boat can run you in the low hundred or so..
the really nice intricate ones can go upwards to 500 plus
You want to also can buy a nice model sailboat.....
Some people cringe at the fact that some of the boats (gas types) run into the 4 digit mark while others would gladly throw another 4 digits to get one more ...
i guess its all a matter of what you really want and i think you will decide once you visit PP this weekend.

thanks for the advise..sailboat is nice too but i think they are quite bulky and need deeper water right? the Atlantic is nice and can be used as display too!! damn, these things sure get expensive...

so awesome, did you go visit the pond?

I visited the place today to see if it could re-kindle the boating bug for me, but it looks like it's my wife instead who was a bit tempted to try it out..

Thanks to the other guys' spouse/girlfriend who kept intro-ing the cute little Reef Racer eh..

Will probably visit the pond again this saturday with my villian EX for a quick run.

yes, i saw two little reef racers..cute little boats..my wife likes these most..no problem submerging and its nearly impossible to capsize..cool..

i like the yellow one..i think its also a reef racer..pretty fast..and i realised slow boats are not so popular..

                      hi bryan,

thanks for making yr time to come down to pp,i guess u should hav better idea of boating.likewise i suggest u go electric cos there not many things to transport along except the battery cost can be a bomb.as for nitro the consistent running is there(longer run times)but slightly more stuff to tag along n of cos u must lube yr engine wif after-run oil after play cos bearing n crankshaft wil not rust in there so the maintance is there.do drop by ntc if u do pass by cos there hav a number of rtr boats from aquacrafts.

                        Go Gas!

                        1) known fact that the engines need less tuning and maintenance.
                        2) uses standard pump gas so its cheaper than nitro
                        3) Its real big and loud (but within db limits) so its a real attention seeker
                        4) its pump and run until you sian........... LOL

                        Go electric!

                        1) silent so no probs running anytime, anywhere
                        2) need good charger and batts may cost a lot 1st time round as you may want a few standby packs.....
                        3) generally no probs and with the right electronisc and batts, you acn be the fastest boat in PP .........

Hey, great to meet you guys yesterday... looks like the Reef Racers had most of the fun and the attention It's good to know that it's not all down to size and speed

With the number of people who bought RRs lately (at least 5 that I know of), it's only a matter of time before they all appear at PP at the same time playing bumper boats

Yes, the yellow one is the RR driven by Mrs Doraemon... she got airborne after colliding headon with Mike's RR, landed upside down in the pond, then promptly righted herself can't go wrong with these boats Hope you get one soon and join us
If in doubt - add more horsepower!
