    Li-poly vs Li-ion vs Li-ion polymer

    Hi

    Do you know whats the different between the below 3 types of batteries in terms on power, weight, duration?

    ->Li-poly
    ->Li-ion
    ->Li-ion polymer

    I just noticed that all the while the ST-model batt i am using are Li-ion polymer.

    Thanks

    hey yaw

    the cells we are using are hybrids between lithium ion and lithium polymer.

    correctly termed our lipo's are really all li-ion-polymer cells.It's just marketing in a way.

    If i recall right real lithium polymer cells are wafer thin as they have a dry, solid polymer elecrolytic conducter surface. Those are the cells that are supposed to be woven into our smart clothes and all that jazz in the jazzed up future.

    Ionic flow through the polymer layer is supposed to be pretty crap.

    Lithium Ion cells use a liquid electrolyte.That's why they are a bit like tin cans.

    The lithium ion polymer cells we use are hybrids in that they make use of both: a polymer electrolyte soaked in a gel type electrolyte
    to enhance the ionic flow and thus conductivity and lower internal resistance etc.

        Thanks Derrick That's a very good explanation.

        Oh so all lipos we using now (etec, kokam, st-model..etc) are all li-ion-poly

          no problem yaw

          yeah all so called lithium polymer cell we're using that come in that funky keropok packet packaging are generally the same thing.

          yeah nic can you imagine splling water on yourself , shorting out youe shirt and catching fire hahah a worrying thought
