need help with bloated batteries!

hi people, i have a 3cell lipo. recently while playing with my heli, i overdischarged my battery pack and the middle cell bloated up. so i waited for it to cool and then i punctured a hole with a needle, i then use tape to cover up the hole.

Question is should i continue to use this battery? or is this battery to be condemned? thanks.. i dont really wan to condemn it.. such batteries are expensive..

The fact that you punctured a hole, it cannot be used.
Puncturing a hole is a proceedure to dispose of the battery, not remedying it.

search the web for ways of disabling the cells with salt water before disposal.

thanks people, can i however use the other 2 cells instead? i'll just separate the spoilt battery from the pack?

U can salvage the 2 "ok" cells and make it a 2s pack. But it wouldn't last very long either cos most likely it was over discharge as well. But be very careful when salvaging.

Disposal of LiPo batteries:
Put the pack in a safe open area and connect a moderate resistance across the c ell terminals until the cell is completely discharged.
CAUTION: The pack may get extremely hot during the discharge.
Puncture the plastic envelope and immerse in salt water for several hours.
Place in your regular rubbish bin.
