Charging Batteries in Parallel

If you're looking for something like the one in the picture. I don't think LHS sells them. I might be wrong. Simply because there are too many connectors to choose from, don't think it's profitable for them to hold something like that. It might be a better idea to make one yourself.

Btw, you can balance lipo in parallel.

Did a simple Y cable for both the charging cable and balancing cable. Ths way I can charge 2 batts in parallel. At the moment it take 2 times as long as my charging current is still 2A (power supply only rated 2A). If my power supply could support, I can charge the 2 X 2200mAh batt at 4.4A.

At least now I can start charging and go do other stuff. No need to keep constantly check whether ready to charge the next batt.

It's my first attempt at doing parallel charging..

Safety first.
As long as the packs are almost in the same state of charger and the same S count you can connect.............try the MPA boards as theey are designed to protection you incase you do something wrong

yes we know. DEANS is the USA version.
We have the MPA with Si Wire for EC5 too

I have the female bullet on the battery.. but the male blue housing..

I was told this is the correct way of putting this EC5 together

What sort of balancing tab is this??

And if i use 2 3s 2200mah lipo batt for my heli and one other 3s 2200mah lipo batt for my plane . End of the day can i charge them together one shot using parallel charging ? Cos my charger nowadays sometimes take more then 2 hr to balance charge a single 3s 2200mah lipo at 1c rate . Multiply by 3 = 6 hrs already . Not to mention sometimes i have other lipo batt to charge also . Take up one whole day already .

I have a generic made-in-china 50W charger, 5A max charge current, that I connect to a generic parallel charging board bought from HK.

At any one time I've plugged up to 3 pieces of 3s 2200 mAh for parellel charging, set to the max charging current. This is less than 1C charge rate and can take up to 2 hr, but at least I don't need to swap the lipos, and 3 pieces are charged at the same time.

The limit is usually your charger or your power supply max current for charging. Balancing, in my experience, is not so critical, where 3s is concerned. Might be a big deal for larger number of cells, though. Without balancing, the charge rate is faster, and some chargers even have a "Fast Charge" mode... slightly faster than usual.

If you still want to charge faster, then get a second charger, or third... Nowadays the generic made-in-china 50W - 80W chargers are cheap and good, with the convenience of being able to plug directly to 240VAC wall outlet.

2 cell of 3s 2200mah took me 1 hour
8 set will takes me 8 hours.

so you will have 16 pcs of fully charged 3s 2200mah or 8 pcs of 6s 2200mah for 8 hours without changing the batteries during charging.

and i use Revolectrix Cellpro 10S Lipo Charger for out field charging.
