What is battery cylcing operation

Hi, got this nood question.

Got the T15 charger. It has this function call the 'Battety Cycling'.

May i know hat is this function purpose? It has how many Discharge - Charge cycle selection OR Charge - Discharge cyclie selection.

What is these function denotes? Will it cause any bad or good effects to the charger and battery?

I am using Orion 4500, 7.2V batt pack. What is the optimum setting for this kind of batt?

also a noob but what i can tell you is that bettery cycling is used for
1: use one cycle (discharge then recharge) for batteries such as ni-cds,
that have the "memory effect".
2: use to cycle new batteries so that they can attain their maximum capacity.
3: cycle old batteries so that they get "rejuvenated".
Correct me if i'm wrong!

Oh.. so it is something like those old mobile phone battery effects. Must use till dry dry then charge, if not next time the battery use till certain % which still have the capabilty to go on but it will shows low batt info.
