Charging NiMH with NiCd charger

I have a futaba tx that came with stock NiCd batt pack with NiCd charger (also stock, 9.6V 55mA).

Changed the batt pack to NiMH double the capacity... question now is, has anybody tried using the stock charger to charge NiMH??

Theoretically, should not be much different, no? At 55mA... it's like trickle-charging with very little chance of anything going wrong. Only problem I can think of is that it will take a looong time to charge, based on calculations.

NiMH once fully charged, stop. Don't trickle charge.
NiCd can trickle charge.
Lipo.. don't even try.
