Best battery for Radio, Ni-CD or Ni-mh?

I got my FF7 with 8 AA Ni-CD batteries of 700Mah, they last around 2 or 3 hours and i have tried also with Ni-mh of 2400Mah but for some reason they last less than Ni-cd, is that ok?, why radios came with Ni-cd batts instead Ni-mah knowing that those got more capacity?
    Thanks

The nimh should really last much longer

Most AA size nimh are not designed to be soldered, most people use them with battery holder. The battery holder are not good for charging the AA nimh. The connectors tend to get too hot, which causes the resistance to go up and the charger thinks it is full. Which explains for the low capacity.

To charge those AA nimh batt properly, it should be charged individually using those chargers that come with the batt.

          Otherwise use Sanyo 1100nicads.

            Hi

I am using Sanyo Ni-Mh 2500mAh battery for my Tx. It lasted a week without charging with 1hrs daily use. Almost as long as using alkaline battery.

Can't quite agree. I charged my AAs for my Tx with the batt tray on. Just need to charge them with low amps. Itll be fine. Dun even get hot. And the capacity even exceeds the batts rating of 2100mah. (i'd get 2400++ )

I agree with you at low amps say 1/10c it will cont. to charge and would not get hot. But do a discharge to check if you get 2100mah. I couldn't get mine to give me anything more than 1300ma. Maybe my 2100s are lemon.
