I don't know if I'm overcharging my battery.Dare not leave it more than half hour.Charge till 8.7V for 6 AA size 1500mAh battery.
Does yr ImaxB5 stops by itself? How do you set when to stop??

Depends on how fast you want it to charge.
I've charged NiCds at 2A before on B5, no issues.
            It'll auto cut when full.

Of course slow charging always helps alot better to maintain lifespan of batteries.

                  bro,

                  it will auto cutoff.
the battery can get very warm....but, that is normal.
normally for NiMH, I normally don't charge more than 1A.

                  cheers!

I usually set my charger to 'Auto' when charging my 10 cells 3400mAh Nimh pack. It will start at a very low charging current, about 0.2amp and gradually increase to the charger max cap of 5.5amp within 3 mins. It will continue to charge at this current until it peaks and auto shut down in about 35 mins. Batt are hot to touch but are still going strong till today after dozens of chargers and usage. For info, batt is about 4 years old now. Oh! I do cycle the batt once every 3 -5 charge.
                    Cheers,
                    Hood
