    NICAD and NIMH charger difference?

Anyone knows if i can use a simple wall charger thats used to charge NICAD to charge NIMH?

The output specs on the charger is 7.2vm 500mah.

    My batt is 7.2v 1800mah.

    newbie at nicad and nimh...

The specific chargers for NiCd and NiMh are different in their delta-V detection
....NiCd usually can tolerate a larger voltage drop in their charging peak condition (usually from 15mV to 25mV) ...NiMh are more sensitive to heat and usually have a very tight delta peak (usually from zero-peak to 5mV)
We are talking about charging Sub-C cells here are 5A rates

I assume you are refering to AA size Tx NiMh batteries.
As your charger will charge at only 500Mah (trickle charging) ...it shouldn't be a problem charging NiCd or NiMh ....you just have to leave it plugged in for 12 to 15 hrs.

    Cheers !
