    Lipo Battery Dilemma

Dear experienced flyers... i have to seek some advise from you as i really don't know what best to do...

    This is what i have...
    i have 7 litium Ion 1800mah batteries...
2 x 2s2p dunno how many mah lipo...
    1 x lipo charger for 2s max...

And i'm trying to do up a slow stick as that seem to be the plane most recommend in rcgroups before i chance upon this forum...

using the GWS EPS C... is a cheap option as compared to getting the brushless motor which most of you are using ... but it will mean it need Vit M which i'm not very rich in... what is the best thing to do if you were in my shoes with your knowledge of what the market have now... please advise.. really lost....

    Thanks!

    Hi xwing,

    Welcome to DH!

First you can use your 2S charger to charge your 2cell Lipo you have right now and charge below the C rated on your lipo. In this case you don't know how much is your mah, you can try charging it lower than 650mah till the charger lights goes full. (may take more than 1 hour with close supervised charge)

You need an ESC rated between 18-25amp for your slowstick as I believe you are using a brushed motor for your setup.

Above just a general guide otherwise bring it down to any of the funfly spots where the happenings are and approach any of the friendly flyers there

      Hi Sky,

Thanks for the tip. But should i be thinking of getting the 3S type of batteries and a 3S charger? cause everyone seems to be using that kinda configuration... i mean a lipo 2S is = 7.4V ... and it seems like the plane cannot fly... maybe too heavy... i haven't tried the slowstick for flying for fear it will just go ka put...

        Hello XWing,

A 3S LiPo will only work if you upgrade your slow stick to brushless (Example: Typhoon 6/3D Motor and Tsunami 10 Electronic Speed Controller).

The small GWS brush motor you get with your SlowStick will be destroyed very quickly due to the high voltage if you use a 3S pack.
