    Removing of Pinion Gear

Anyone knows of other method of removing the pinion gear beside making use of the pinion puller which is rather costly. Thank you in advance...

Borrow a pinion puller. Dont risk damaging the shaft with pliers and stuff..

How about share the cost, we can ask the JW member about if you are no hurry.....as we dont use the tool all the time. Hence can pass around as needed.

          Hi,

I read this method in rcgroups forum:
          - clamp the can
          - heat the pinion with a mini blow lamp (think they refering to those cigar lighters). This removes the anti-lock that has been applied
          - pull out the pinion with pliers (it is suppose to slide right off!)

Have not tried this but guess it's no harm if u got a dead motor and want to salvage the gear.

          Cheers!

heating the gear with any lighter for a minute should do the trick as the gear expand differently from the shaft.
