want to know more of Twin mico-jet from multiplex

Hi, would like to know if anyone has flown this plane before.

I went to the website of Tower Hobbies and Omni models and some other site to find that this model was discontinue. Is there some problem with this kit. Anyone know why ?

Am thinking of getting this kit but have my reservation because of the ...discontinuing clause of this model.

    Cheers

It was very popular a few years ago, although most owners changed the powerplant to brushless setup to spice up the flying capabilities. Multiplex do not usually produce a kit design for too long. After a few years, they move on to newer or upgraded design. By the way, the Twinjet predecessor is the Picojet, and later followed by Microjet before being superceded by the Funjet.

Check our local store, NTC Engineering. Their website still shows the kit. Do check out our local store before jumping into oversea websites. You will probably get a better deal unless you are bulk ordering.

Hi Joe, thanks for the info.
May go down to NTC to have a look and see if they have stock or look elsewhere.

      Cheers

I think I saw one of them at NTC today. So yes, they have it in stock.

jus a question on these twin pusher setup, wat if one motor loses its power more than the other and began to slow down, wat will happen? i notice the motors are mounted apart not side by side like your twin ducted fan, will the plane yaw to one side?

You'll notice assymmetry thrust in this case and the plane will yaw to one side. However, for twin electric setup, this scenario is very remote unless the motors have different utilisations before being setup as a twin. I've witness one with twin brushless setup which blew both motors together during a very high speed dive.

Hi , I think Joe Yap has answer your query. Twin EDF is less critical than pusher especially those with larger diameter prop setup in a out of balance power situation.

With a twin EDF, I notice the planes rolls better on a right banking compare to a single EDF setup.

A twin EDF setup for this beautiful twin microjet will be nice isn't it?

                  Cheers

will the twin fan be able to mount side by side between the fins? it looks kinda close to each other.

Micro-jet twin modified to twin EDF version is ready for maiden. Just need arrange for transportation and good weather.
                      AUW is 1.05Kg

                        Twin MPX micro-jet EDF version

Hi finally built and maiden the twin jet in EDF configuration.
Due to limitation size allow in this attachment , here is a short and sweet flight.
When viewing this files you may get an error message...just ignore and play it anyway.

No , only about 250 watts per fan.
Estimate thrust is 1.2Kg with a good lipo and on full charge . Plane weight 1.05kg so hand launch is very steep ascent. Unlimited vertical is possible with this setup.

                              Cheers
