Hey protyne thanks for the BL motor
I'm now on a 1000kv esky BL outrunner and 2S configuration
any recommendations for a prop size? I'm thinking 1080 or 1180 since my 2S rpm is low... what say you guys? I want.. SPEEED

        Speed...

1000kV motor on 2S is too low on the RPM to give you blistering speed.
You will need to up the voltage (ie. 3S). An 8x6E is a good starting point... just need to watch out for amp draw, prop/motor vibration and careful on the setting on servo throws.

BTW the ES is too draggy to get hyper speed, to get there you'll need a cleaner plane. Can try the mini Tucano from Warbird or Align speed glider (or clones) if yo can find one... Fly safe.

        Cheers,
        Leon

          I have flew zero with 2S 1022KV/9060 @ 50% throttle.
Maybe you would want to try if the speed is to your preference.

Me just crashed yest with the modded flat wing
Give up le, I putting back the old original wing and see if can get back to relax flying with it.
Looks like I'm not good at creating freaks. Maybe go pray pray to Jim with few bottles of hoegarden? OT hoegarden taste very sweet, is it me or you guys feel the same?

Just tried new ES with the old wing. Nearly shit in my pants...too fast...
Manage to find the trottle that can maintain altitude, but when I lower trottle slightly, the plane will stall.
Took about 3 flights, and took out 30g weight
Been recommended to use bigger prop so will be changing from 8x6 to 9x5. Running on 3s 1050mA/10c with 1000kv Esky BL motor.
Hope tmr morning can have a more relax flight.
Leon, as spoken just now pls try it tmr wor, want to see if it makes your shit drip like mine!

hmm that's what i tought too, that's why I bought a 1180 and 1080 prop just in case...

I'm really quite puzzled how come smaller prop can give higher speed maybe one day i drop by PFW somebody explain stuff to me man.. i am a nooblet to planes

Small prop high pitch = low thrust but higher speed end

It will only be able to achieve the speed if the prop can unload and overcome the plane. Just think of cycling on the highest gear or driving 5th gear right away. Only works if your motor can drive up good RPM. Come to Punggol, see my 6 X 4 prop draw 90amp peak 31K rpm and hit more than 100MPH
Stop looking for a gyro in my plane, they are all in the head.

Okay I am back from flying my ES.. i still can't seem to get the right BL power system. My brushed setup can get me flying happily for 12-13 mins on one pack of 2S 1200mAh 10C batteries, 1080 prop. I put 1080, 1047 and 1180 props on a 1000kV Esky Outrunner, i only managed barely 8mins. The motor was just slightly warm, the ESC was warm, but the battery was HOT...

Sian.. tomorrow morning, anybody available in BP to help me with my ES?

what is the amp draw (low-mid-full throttle) with the various size prop?

I don't have an ampmeter to test, but from the temp. of the battery, I am guessing the current draw is higher than what the battery can supply (1.2A 10C = 12A). My ESC is safe in this case (18A HobbyWing)...

Maybe a smaller prop might help, but I don't have so many props to try. ALl i have is 1047 1080 and 1180 GWS/TowerPro SF props..

Bro. Try a APC 8x6 prop. I'm having a blast with my ES also using the same motor as you. Easily 10 - 12 mins.

                            Cheers.

muhahahham, time to restart this thread soon....
i retiring my e-starter soon (too banged up to be sold sixth hand)

hence, as the pyrotechnics kinda guy, i'm thinking about starping it up with J.A.T.O (jet assisted take off) rockets... and let it do a retiring flight with a bang!

hahahah, but first i need to ask, if i hand-made the rockets, legal or not?

                              hahaha
                              DUCT DUCT DUCT GO!!!!
