what planes have you flown before?
pylons are the way to go because of their aerodynamic design you fly them fluidly and efficiently and not by brute force. And it's nice to hear the swish sound. But they are quite hot to land as you normally cannot set flaps for them as they mostly use one servo for ailerons.
This is my humble sokol, it is a good pylon but I'm out of stock but I do have dynamic 400

we fly at bedok reservoir field (behind the mosque) check this thread http://www.daddyhobby.com/forum/show...8&page=1&pp=15 but if you want bigger airfield JW, Woodlands, RMS will be more ideal.
And if you dare, you can fly during monsoon wind season at bedok reservoir slope it will be shiok to see the pylon cutting thru the wind & hear the swish sound & put your airframe to the limit when you dive downwind but landing a small pylon on a slope without spoilers is a real challengesigpic
