Btw, the paint is really thin. Normal masking tape will peel some paint off. Wonder if those Tamiya clear paint can be used to coat over the existing paintjob.
still hangin up leh...so watz the recommendations for the electronics setup?

Just mounted the control horns for the elevator and rudder. Taking things slowly at a time.

My electronics setup would be :

      1. ESC (GWS ICS-100)
      2. Rx (GWS 4ch pico)
      3. Servos (Blue Arrow 3.6g)
      4. Battery (Etec 2S 450mAh)

Going to cut the front of the fuselage so that the batteries can be changeable. Lots of pictures available on the 2 links I posted before.

Check out with mack if you are looking for 3.6g servo, may still have some stock as I have just get 4 pcs from him 2 wks back for other project....

The tamiya clear should work fine but dont think it will protect it from peeling. Best is apply clear packing tape over all handling area....hmm I don have such problem with my colourful P51

It came with clear tape to protect the LE. Packing tape for the wings might be ok, but for the fuselage it's abit difficult due to the curve surface.

PS: Home alone building your TM400??

Shadow , thanks for the warbird. Its super duper extremely smaller than i thought !!

anyway, i just finished building it. It seems that it's head heavy.. very head heavy.

            using Rcflipmaster Se-06 servo
            Stock motor
            Airtechnic 6ch Rx
            flipmaster 400mah 7.4v lipo

will maiden tomorrow morning . anyway, im htinking of adding a brushless IPS on it

Man, you are fast. Collected the plane at around 8pm and at 10.10pm you posted that it's done up. Fast job man. Waiting to hear your report on the maiden.

yep will do a report. if its still head heavy, im gonna add a 50 cent coin at the tail to balance it .

my maiden flight will determine if im gonna use brushless on this or not

                    Cossair Build

                    Hi
Been building up my cossair. So her it is with some mod.
                    1. Cowling cut off so that motor can be easily replace.
                    2. A look inside the cowling.
                    3. Rx is kept in the cockpit & servos are mounted externally so that can be easily taken out.
                    4. Battery compartment. Now to look for a gd batteryto fut that space. A little sad that by inventory don;t have a battery that small.
                    5. ESC mounter in the fuse can also be easily removed. Look like have enough space for aileron servo as well

So any one know a good compact battery to use. Any mod on aileron also well come. Thank you.

an Etec 450mah 7.4v or Flipmaster 400mah 7.4v should do the trick

im scared to maiden mine cause from the looks... its small and fragile. tried it just not but crashed. gonna try what you did.. mount servos outside for easy replacement but im on a p40

bro joed, how heavy is your F4U now?? will the ext servo at the tail gives a tail-heavy? cos there is this qn in my mind.. if the plane AUW is too heavy, not sure if the small 130 motor can take it? that's why I dun dare to buy the 730mAh batt.. therefore I got the 430mAh instead..

anyone know what the recommended flying weight for these planes??

                              Hi
I actually haven't weight it yet. Will do that once I complete. But shouldn't have too must inc in weight.
For tail heavy, I thought of that before. That's why I had the batt compt right in the fwd.

If you read the manual carefully, this plane is meant to be head heavy. So ok to have a big batt as long it fit.

BTW any one any idea to get matching paint for this plane? Want to touch up some hanger scratches.
