The Align speed glider can be very fast but you must reinforce the wing as it will flex if you pull at that speed. I reinforced both sides of the wing with CF rod & CF strip. We have tried mega 16/15/4 & warp 3T in it and the speed is very good & with a good spinner & prop it flies very quiet & you can hear the swoosh sound I can show you when we meet up. Kelvin is building a new speed glider now hehe.
I brought in a few sokol and according to Ah Boon it flies better than VIP & has a nice whistle sound that the VIP doesn't have but the sokol is a floater so landing is very hot & more difficult than VIP. The Dynamic 400 is another good pylon, I'll be bringing in a few direct from manufacturer in a month's time
Thanks for the advices...I didnt re-inforce my SP glider & it is ok...coz I dun normally do High-G pull. I used Mega on my VIP but it bloated 2 of my lipo.
However, I am curious in the Sokol u mentioned. Randall has told me about it. Would like to see how well it perform. BTW how much har?? Ever since my VIP R.I.P, I have been going for cheaper thrills (Align SP glider etc)
Juz crossed over to the DUCT side!

Hi Joe, are you using the original brushed motor or are you going brushless with the 8 micro EDF.
If Brushless please let us know your setup like motors, ESC, Lipo cells.
Keep it up man.

Nope, I'll stick to the original brushed setup. If I want to go brushless, I'll use it with my 2 Wemotec microfans. Take note that not all fan units can take the power of brushless motors. They do have thier own opertional limits. Read the Wemotec manuals. They do provide the speed limitations. Cheapo units like the ones I bought didn't have, so do it at your own discretions and risks.
1) click on "2005web format product catalog"
2) scroll to Tahmazo EDF (i think is item 11)
3) you will find useful technical spec, setup on the 7 blade 55mm EDF.
I use this info as a baseline and references for my 55mmEDF .It is quite accurate.

Thankz for the recommendation... think some of them are good references... However the flt time u mentioned is abit short...so... perhaps I'll have to stuck with my Align Glider for awhile... As for the speed I dun think it is fast enuff as some VIP pylon racers I've seen. Ah Boon flies very well too So sad that my VIP R.I.P now. Else can ask Edmund, YZY & we have a mini plyon race. Kelvin has one rite? Never seen him fly leh... How Kelvin???
