Right now, we have 2 airworthy Canaries. This noon, both of them were happily flying around the school compound together with an EPP trainer.

Based on the basic Canary layout, I designed the Humming Bird.

Airframe construction: balsa with CF boom
        Wingspan : 32"
        AUW : 135grams
        Controls : 3 Channels ( R/E/T)
        Motor : JT C18 2000KV Micro Brushless Motor (11.4g)
        Battery : 2S 450mah

Maidened this morning when the wind is calm. After some trimming and programming, this is a pussy cat in the sky, although not suitable in windy days.

Actually, there are already many similar designs before I designed the Canary. The Wing Dragon sold by Jet hobby many years ago and some parkflyer called the "Firebird", have similar layout.

I design is merely focusing on practical scratchbuilding materials and methods.

Joe is right RIPMAX produced the FIREBIRD XL some 10 years ago and there is another similar model called WINGO, all have similar outlines.

Scratch building is more than cutting balsa wood and gluing them. Its a complex process that will test even the most resilient of people
