Hi guys,
I would like to sell my website authentic watch retail (.com) business locally based in Singapore. It is fully licensed by x-cart and has much potential beyond what I have time to achieve for it. I have a part time SEO (search engine optimization) person on commission basis that brings in the keyword hits and sales. This is very important and effective in terms of vistor counts and it is constantly increasing. Certain watch models searched on google comes out on the 1st hit 1st page. It is a job opportunity or a business opportunity as well for parties interested but you need have tenacity for this business and be literate with computers. The website has been live and in business for 3 years. All of the sales come from overseas. I am asking for $15K
Along with the website I will provide the following:
- All of my reputable distributors on 30-45 day credit terms
- Existing database of previous sales (close to 10000)
- Detailed instructions on how to manage the website
- Singpost account on 30 day terms
I am also selling my gold powerseller ebay business for $15K in terms of a partnership as ebay does not allow the sale of accounts. For this reason, 100% of profits will go to your interests as I do not have time for it. I have 6000+ feedback on a single account. Last year's gross sales was approximately $150K including postage. I have had 11000+ customers so far. A fair percentage of my sales attribute to export. You will have exclusive rights to my listing templates that is generic for all models of watches. I have found a template formula that is comfortable to customers. The website works inconjuction to the ebay business but can be exclusive.
Some questions people might ask,
1. Why are you selling your business that you put your heart and soul into it? Is business bad?: Well, some of you guys know that I have done this fulltime for 3 years, and 3 years is enough for me doing this. I need some proper corporate work time for my future CV etc. I am now currently studying and I need time to concentrate my efforts on that. In fact 4 years ago I gave up my overseas university studies to pursue this business. To be very honest, I did not put 100% effort into this and there is so much potential to grow. Sales of watches are relatively consistent and does not require much effort.
2. Will you go start another watch business, how can I be sure?
I won't start another, you can be sure by me signing a legally binding agreement to this.
3. Will you coach me if I takeover your business?
Yes, but I can only coach a person to run this business if you are somewhat already literate in the internet and basic computer software such as photoshop editing etc. If you do not have these basic skillsets, I don't think you can run this business. You need to also have very basic camera skills and a decent camera of course, I am currently using a G9.
4. Is this really a "home business" people talk about on the internet? How is it home based? What about those "how I became millionaire ebayer" books I saw in borders?
Well to cut the story short, it works like this, basically if you are doing this as a home business, I would have my suppliers sending inventory to my home, I pack my stuff at home, and the post man comes round the next day to collect items to be sent overseas. Suppliers of CN22 and airmail labels/bags are delivered to your home with the Singpost account. The only time you'd have to go out, is for certain models of watches that some wholesalers do not deliver or if you need office supplies ie, tape, envelopes etc.
Those books you see at borders and kino in my opinion is very subjective, can also be a load of BS. To be a millionaire on ebay, you really have to work very very smart and have the best suppliers and the logistics going. It's possible but you'd have to strike it correct.
5. I can do this myself, why do I need to partner your account?
Firstly, I have a broad range of products within a category that is FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) with proper reputable suppliers on credit terms and an extensive reputation on ebay that spans over 3 years. I am on level playing grounds in terms of inventory and logistical costs with the big guns within the category such as pokemonyu (biggest in Singapore), premierworld and other big sellers but I do not have to capacity to operate as them, do you? Even if you do have these things, buyers always like to buy from sellers who have higher feedback.
6. If I takeover your business, how long in your opinion will it take for me to breakeven in the investment?
I'd say if you do take it over and have the tenacity and discipline for it making it your focus, it will definitely take less than a year to breakeven, this includes taking profit on a monthly basis. This is for taking up both the website and ebay partnership business.
I'm about to advertise this in the Straits Times but before I do, I feel this is a better place to do it.
If you have any questions please PM, I will not release details of my website or account until we meet in person.
