if u got people to teach u... it will be a good beginner plane.

if you don't... you might be better off starting with a Slow Stick/J3Cub.

wadabout i teach my father how to fly that thing??? u think he can fly?? if i teach? i am just a OK electric flyer i am much better at gas though.......
if these skills are enough to teach my pop, i will buy the plane

if you have no problems flying/landing a 4CH nitro plane... you should not have any problems flying a estarter...

You just need to get use to hand lanuching and belly landing.

seriously speaking, if e-starter is not suitable as a beginner plane, i really dunno what is? Even those toys-r-us 2ch toy planes are totally unflyable for a beginner. Without proper trim, even paperplane also can't fly well!

I'm sure there are plenty of kind people who will guide your pop well, without charging something like $500 just to learn to fly an IFO. TOC training course perhaps, then i might consider enrolling!
