Rescue boat pushed submerged helicopter to shore at TQ on 30th Oct 2010

A rescue boat specially built to retrieve detached floats of Multiplex TwinStar II pushed a submerged helicopter to the shore for its owner to retrieve it. The helicopter was on a test flight. It overturned after a landing when its tail rotor hit the water. Only the floats of the helicopter could be seen above the water surface. The helicopter was submerged in several feet of water.

That is why for seaborne (correction, should be sea based) helicopter, it is better to be in elevated tail configuration.

Recently my scale heli was dipped on water..not deep but enough to flooded some avionics. For my case, it is the external BEC got flooded with water and causes the o/p voltage to goes to very high (to like 6S1P from the i/p voltage) and that causes the following damage:
          1. one Hitec HS-5065 burned with smoke.
          2. logictech 2100 gyro burn.
          3. Navigation lights controller.

THe logictech 2100 still can recover by bypass the what appeared to be a voltage regulator inside it. The gyro is still working but I think there is some damage whereby at idle state, it will slowly move to one side.

For 3, it is ok because I can reprogram a new PIC microcontroller.

All electronics are coated with waterproofed agent....
