          Hi Ariva,

I'm playing with the idea of building my own RC powered parafoil.

This canopy 3 m. What motor/prop and weight is suitable for it? Is it too big?

                Thanks Mr Ariva!
So it is a 2 m canopy that is the sweet spot.

3 m can take a small dog or cat.

Ariva tried to maiden mine last week, but found my 2m canopy (from rotor) is not suitable for use as the air scoop is too small for paraplane purpose. Will try to look for the right type of canopy.

Ariva , thanks for your great advice. I have change the prop to 10*4.7 SF and lengthen my flybar to 13" as suggested. Meanwhile i have also modify my existing canopy by widening the air scoop by another 1.5". Will try it in the wind this weekend again and see how it goes....

Is it necessary to ROG take off? Can paraplanes be hand launched or
run-in-the-wind-tossed? Seems like difficult to ROG takeoff. Alot of hit and miss.

Bro, "air scoop" is the large openings or holes on the canopy where the flowing air is ramped into the canopy to inflate it up.
