    Sweet Lighting

    Just like to share with you my built P-38 Lighting from GWS. Took me about a week to build this.

    Power Plant : 2 x JH1534KV
    ESC : 2 x hobby wing 18Amp ESC
    Controls : ailerons x 2 servo , elevator x 1 servo , nose wheel x 1 servo
    Batt 3s 1700mAh
    Props 2x( 8x6 3 prop)

    Pls comments on the setup I have...want to make sure its airworth. Reommended prop is a 8x5. Is there any consideration I should take into account by using the 8x6 3 prop instead of the normal 8x6 props?

      fuyoo.the plane looks so nice that i would rather hang it on the wall first

        thanks ....yup...will prob do that....i guess thats the problem if one takes the time build it....once built...to sayang to fly her..just admire at home. The phobia of bring her home in pieces started to kick in.

          Sorry what is the AUW? 1700mah looks to me like a little to small ... jus my pure guess

                AWUT is 950g ..excluding batt.

                I think u are rite...1700mah is a bit too small. Ran it at home at 3/4 throttle...lasted only 7 mins..b4 batt reach 11V

                    The kit was only availble in Japan n USA for quite a while...

                    So u found the GWS shop in Taipei ?

                    I think jus chk if the thrust on both are balance when full power. U know any method to ensure that ? I still not sure, so I m delaying my project on the F-14.

                      wrap the head of the plane with some soft material to cover, then place it 90 deg to the wall. slowly spool up the motors, and note which side does it tend to yaw. upon slight yawing cut down throttle immediately. repeat this for as many times as u want till u see a steady pattern. the side which it yaw towards is the side with lesser thrust..



                      or u try hanging the plane from the top of cg. then secure another line to the bototm of the plane. throttle up and u will notice it leaning to one side.. that side would be the side with lesser thrust..

                      well these methods are primitive.. but they should still obey basic law of physics..

                          Hi guys, even if there's asymmetric thrust...can anything be done? if going by hearing....there's is a harmonic freq produced by the 2 motors....no single freq.

                          And I got the kit from Taipei... Rotor carrys it too. GWS also now have the Me209. WW2 German jet fighter

                            U can check the rpm of each motor with a tacho. If rpm is the same and prop used is identical..u shd be fine.. If RPM is unbalanced, mix in some rudder w/ throttle to compensate.

                            Just a couple of ideas that might work Gd luck on her maiden! Nice plane!
