    Castle Creations's PHX-Link Version: 1.03Beta

    Hi all

This morning I tried program my Castle Creations PHX-10 with the beta firmware from Phoenix Link Interface BETA Software Version: 1.03B (Note... this PHX-Link come with PHX's firmware also).

I set my advance timing to the lowest one with slowest start-up. With this new beta, I notice that the motor (HA2015-4100) spin much faster than before! If that is the case, for those who claim do not have enough RPM, maybe can try it.

Edit: Forgot the link...hehe... here is the direct link:

Can you guys who have the USB link and have updated the software do a test on the governor and see whether the motor still pulses and hunts and not maintain rpm?

I tried mine with the pinion loosened and indeed the motor does not run smoothly. It goes up and down in rpm. Be it low or high rpm governor and all 3 timing settings.

Heard some success of the governor working from some folks who have updated their software with the newest one.
Just loosen the pinion and set the throttle curve like 0 60 60 60 60. When you first throttle up, the motor will run smooth but once the governor rams up and gets activated within a couple of seconds after start up my motor starts pulsating in rpms.

Would greatly appreciate it if someone is willing to try it out.
        Thanks!

Alamak if I knew earlier should have gotten the 25 instead!
            When did you buy it?

Anyone with an updated P10 tried the governor yet?

Frank when you mentioned works flawlessly, do U mean to say the CC25 works flawlessly on a Hornet?

No problems with the CC10 on governor mode on Pic Pros, so no worries Fit..... it's to do with the mechanics of the hornet.......

I just ran the governor with the pinion loosened. But even without load I can hear the motor pulsing in rpm. So I don't think its just solely due to hornet's mechanics. The governor really isn't working right. But I may be wrong, maybe with load it would run better or something.

Are the zoom guys running the P10? I wonder whether their governor works with the zoom instead.

Hmmm dumb question but is there some form of gain adjustment for the governor mode ?

My CC25 works on governor mode on my CP hummingbird.
Castle's governor mode will work differently for different motors.
It senses the actual number of poles of the motor.
For a two pole motor like the hacker or himaxx, the governor setting can be as low as 20% to 40% on your throttle curve. For multi poles motor like outrunners or miniACs, the throttle curve settings are around 60% to 90%.
Both of these throttle curve settings will achieve about 85% to 95% of available motor RPM.

Thats a large difference in throttle percentages. I didn't know about that at all. Very interesting... Previously I set the throttle curve at 60%.I'll try it again with different percentages and see how it goes. Thanks Frank.

Derrick, the throttle curve will determine the rpm that will be governed. No other adjustment available.
