    multiplex esc help

Why does the esc keep making the motor make beep sounds every 20 seconds when i leave the throttle on idle? It's a multiplex multicont bl 27/ii.

Even after i start the motor up and throttle back down, it still does the 20 second beep thing.

    Hope someone can advice thanks!

    not to worry..
    this is normal and correct..

    Multiplex uses Castle Creation ESC.
and i copied this explanation from the userguide..

    ==

    Beep Codes/Conditions
All Castle ESCs will sound a single beep every 20 seconds to
remind the user that the controller is connected to a battery
and drawing power. Leaving a controller connected to a
battery for extended periods will likely damage the battery

      hahahah thats clever. thanks!

strangely even on idle and just moving the servos around, the esc heats up quite a bit. any comments?

Yeah I think is a good feature..
I once forgotten to disconnect my batt and left for a week..
The battery totally flattened and it is unusable anymore..

Now flying my glider with CC esc and I still hear the beep once a while when it flies near..
And I know the esc is still alive hahaha..

        How hot is it? :-D
This one I not sure :-P

        How many servos are connected?
There is a guide in how many servos a bec can handle vs the input voltage..

I guess you are using no more than 3S on the esc..
Because it cant take more than that..

Also some bec turn the extra voltage into heat..

You want to experiment by connecting a 2S jus to see if the heat still exist?
