V1 had a recall because it will blow out, allowing full voltage from the batt to pass through. I.e. if you are using 6S or 12S, your Rx are servos will burnt.
They replaced with v2, after multiple complaints.
Now v2 comes with output wires soldered on a surface mount PCB. They then solder a large diode across the outputs. The 4 output wires are "securely" held in place by the casing. Due to the poor soldiering, the output wires will loose contact from the PCB, but held in place by the casing. So the BEC will continue to work, making the aircraft/heli to appears as suffering from occassional glithes. Crashed my plane twice because of these momemtary lost of control.
Upon troubleshhoting just now, i cut of all my zip ties to check connection, only to realise all 4 output wires of the BEC are totally sheared at the PCB. They simply drop off at the PCB when i lifted the BEC.
The BEC cost more than a $100. Really amazing CC gives this kind of poor quality product.. I did a search on the web, I am not the only person reporting this same failure for v2 BEC PRO.
If you are using one, please routinely check it for soldering failure at the output wires. Best, junk it and replace with some other method for safety sake, or if your soldering skills are good, redo it.
