    Yes, 2.4GHz technology is convenient, but scary if you know the limitations. I've heard of a case of signal attenuation happening when the model just flew past behind a tree!

    On the other hand, while the article is talking about maximizing signal reception... ironically, the antenna of the 2.4GHz TX should not be pointed directly at the model.

    That's why 2.4GHz antennas can and should be pivoted into "L" shape when in use...
