i have a futaba 9chp on 40mhz can i just swap the module to other freq to use?

Of course you can, for example, swap to compatible 29MHz module, then depending on the crystal, use frequencies in the 29MHz band.

Or can even use 2.4GHz modules from various manufacturers, just remember to get the Futaba variant.
